How to setup bluetooth enabled device

How to set up a Bluetooth enabled device
To set up a Bluetooth enabled device, you need to do three things:
  1. Add a Bluetooth adapter to your computer.
This is usually done by plugging the adapter into a USB port. (If a Bluetooth adapter is already built in or attached to your computer, ignore this step.)
  1. Set up the device so that your computer can find it.
To do this, you must:
    • Turn the device on.
    • Make it discoverable.
To learn how to make a device discoverable, check the information that came with your device or go to the manufacturer’s website.
  1. Install the device.
To install most devices, such as a mobile phone, keyboard, mouse, or personal digital assistant (PDA), you can use Bluetooth Devices in Control Panel. If you have Bluetooth wireless technology installed on your computer, follow these steps:
To install a Bluetooth enabled device
1.                  Click the Start button , click Control Panel, click Hardware and Sound, and then click Bluetooth Devices.
2.                  Click Add, and then follow the instructions.
To install a Bluetooth enabled printer
    • Open the Add Printer wizard by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking Hardware and Sound, clicking Printers, and then clicking Add a printer.
Note
  • Encryption features and a passkey can help to secure your data. However, these and other security measures can be compromised or fail and, if that happens, your data could be visible to or accessible by other devices or computers within range. Therefore, Bluetooth wireless technology should not be considered completely secure.

You might be able to use a Bluetooth enabled mobile phone to connect your computer to the Internet. First, check the information that came with your phone to see if it can be used as a modem. If it can, follow these steps to set it up:
1.      Open the Connect to the Internet wizard by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Network and Internet, clicking Network and Sharing Center, clicking Set up a connection or network, and then clicking Connect to the Internet.
2.      If you already have an Internet connection, click Set up a new connection anyway.
3.      If the Do you want to use a connection that you already have?page appears, click No, create a new connection.

4.      On the How do you want to connect? page, click Dial-up, and then follow the steps. Make sure you select the Bluetooth enabled modem (your phone).
5.      On the Type the information from your Internet service provider (ISP) page, in Dial-up phone number, type the carrier code or phone number.
Contact your mobile service provider for the required ID (or user name), password, and carrier code or phone number.
Note:

·         Before following these steps, make sure your phone has exchanged passkeys with your computer. For more information, see Set up a Bluetooth enabled device.
